gettin' jiggy wit it....

picking up our bibs at the miami marathon expo last weekend

bright and early sunday morning.
the start line was at the american airlines arena

ashlan & i ran the full marathon
jodie & Suz ran the half marathon

runners along ocean drive in southbeach.
i really debated taking pictures along the way.
decided it would be worth sacrificing a few minutes of my time to have memories of the race.
so glad i took the time:)

what would we do without the volunteers
keeping us hydrated?

my knee had been giving me trouble in the weeks before the marathon.
i knew it wasn't going to be good when it was hurting before we even started running.
things got ugly pretty quickly.
by mile 18 i wanted to lay down on the sidewalk and cry, my knee hurt so bad!
something inside me kept my body going....

26.2 done again!
nathan & ashlan were waiting for me at the finish line.

i'm so lucky to be able to run races and have these adventures with ashlan.

everyone always asks, why miami....
here you go...

this is why
sun...sand...water...
well and the chance to run another 26.2
